From here you'll leave the van and retrace the steps of the gold-hungry stampeders who forged this route a century ago. Along the way, you'll hear griping tales, both tall and true, of this legendary era.

Your two-mile uphill hike of the Chilkoot will bring you to the shores of the gentle, but spectacular Taiya river. A tasty reward awaits! A most-welcome snack is offered by your experienced river guide before you "suit up" for the leisurely 40-minute float back to Dyea.
