You'll travel directly by air-conditioned motor coach to the Raffles landing site beside the Singapore River.  Then proceed on foot through the civic district.   See Parliament House, the Victoria theatre, the Empress Place Museum and other colonial building which have been restored to their original splendor.

Back aboard your bus, you'll glimpse other colonial-styled architecture including the City hall, Supreme Court and the legendary Raffles Hotel.  Your attention will also be drawn to the statue of the Merlion, Singapore's enduring symbol.

Your coach will then cross the Singapore river, traverse Shenton Way commonly known as Asia's Wall Street and enter historic Chinatown.  During your stroll here, you'll be introduced to age-old customs and architecture from a bygone era.  Look for Chinese medicine shops, teahouses, acupuncturists and calligraphers as you wander along the atmospheric narrow streets.

You'll then continue by coach to Mount Faber, the island's highest peak, for bird's-eye view's of the city an its bustling harbor.  Next, you proceed to the exotic quarter of "little India," where the stalls and restored shops are perfumed with fragrant jasmine garlands.  Merchants offer everything from sarees and aromatic spices to intricate ornaments.

The Botanical Gardens encompass the world's largest orchid collection featuring 60,000 plants displayed in a natural setting.  Stroll through this lush tropical park before reboarding your coach for Orchard Road, the city's fashionable shopping district.   You may leave the excursion at the Paragon Shopping Center and take a later shuttle bus or return directly to the pier.
