The scenic Dandenong Ranges with their deep fern-covered valleys and magnificent eucalyptus forests boast some of Australia's most beautiful scenery.

From our pier you'll head 18 miles east through the Ferntree Gully to the quaint township of Belgrave.

The "Puffing Billy" is a vintage narrow-gauge steam train over 80 years old.   Relax and enjoy the picturesque scenery as the little red train crosses the spectacular wooden trestle bridge and puffs its way on a 30-minute journey through forested and rural farmlands.

At Menzies Creek, you'll reboard your motor coach for the drive through Lilydale and the vineyards of Yarra Glen to Fergusson's colonial-style winery and restaurant.  An open fire is ablaze inside the rustic dining room, spit-roasting lunch.  Accompanying your meal will be a selection of the establishment's finest wines.

After lunch, you'll cross the Great Dividing Range and pause at the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary to view kangaroos, koalas, lyrebirds, platypus and other uniquely Australian animals in their native habitat.

Relax and enjoy the scenery as you make your way back to the city.  Before returning to the ship, a brief overview of Melbourne's essential highlights will be featured for your enjoyment.

Note:  although some walking is required, this is not extensive.

Approximately 8 1/2 hours.
