Paddling a canoe across a secluded lake is the perfect way to explore Alaska's wilderness—Indian-style.

Your adventure begins with a scenic motor coach drive to an idyllic lake set in the lush Tongass National Forest, at the foot of majestic mountains.

You'll be outfitted with a life jacket before boarding your 37-foot canoe. then, under your experienced guide's watchful eye, you'll help paddle this fast, stable, easy-to-maneuver craft. Scan the shore for wildlife and listen to spellbinding stories of the unique natural and Indian history of this area.

Once across the lake, a native-style snack of smoked fish, clam chowder, sourdough rolls with wild berry jams and hot beverages will be served. And don't miss sampling the infamous "Ketchikan Kicker!"

There will be a brief nature walk, during which your guide will highlight the flora and fauna of the rain forest, before you paddle back to your motor coach and return to the ship.

Approximately 3-1/2 hours.
