In just 20 minutes, you'll be whisked by motor coach to your waterjet-powered motor
catamaran at Auke Bay. This specially-designed vessel features comfortable inside seating,
expansive windows and an observation deck for excellent wildlife viewing and photo
opportunities. The majestic Chilkat Mountain range and Juneau icefield glaciers create an impressive
backdrop as your experienced captain glides among the many islands and channels. Experienced naturalists are on hand to explain the fascinating habit and habitats of
the wildlife you'll encounter. Binoculars are provided for you to keep watch for humpback
whales, Stellar sea lions, Dall's porpoise, harbor seals, Sitka black-tailed deer, bald
eagles and a variety of maritime birds. There are also occasional sightings of orca and
minke whales, harbor porpoise and bears. Complimentary coffee, tea, juice and local snacks are provided for your enjoyment
throughout the cruise. This memorable adventure concludes at Auke Bay where you'll return
by coach to Crystal Symphony. Approximately 3-3/4 hours. |
