Become acquainted with Barcelona, one of Spain's most prosperous and cosmopolitan cities on this excursion by air-conditioned motor coach.

From the pier, you'll proceed past the monument to Columbus before entering the winding boulevard know as Las Ramblas.  Promenading Catalans can be seen strolling past the fine shops, offices and hotels that line this leafy thoroughfare.

Montjuic, one of Barcelona's highest points, is located on the city's southern side.   In 1992, it was the site of the much-acclaimed Olympic Games.  Located in this area is the popular Spanish Village, build in 1929 for the international Exhibition.   Discover a wealth of Spain's most typical architectural styles as you walk along its atmospheric narrow streets.

At the Plaza Catalunya, you'll leave the motor coach to walk through the gothic Quarter with its handsome Roman and medieval remains.  then visit the interior of the impressive cathedral, whose construction began in 1298 and continued for 200 years.   Its side chapels, sculptures and paintings are of great variety and quality.   Perhaps most impressive of all are the Ordonez reliefs of the Martyrdom of Santa Eulalia.  You'll also visit the cloister with its palms, fragrant magnolias and orange trees.

Back aboard your coach, you'll proceed to the Sagrada Familia Church, an unfinished masterpiece of striking originality by the famous architect Gaudi.  With is peculiar expressionist style, profuse decoration and immense proportions, this structure is unlike anything you have ever seen.

En route to the ship, you'll traverse Paseo de Gracia, Barcelona's main street, which is a showpiece of works by Gaudi and other modernist architects.

Approximately 3-1/2 hours.
