The Blue Mountains are an awe-inspiring region of giant rock formations, tree-studded deep valleys and cascading waterfalls.  Your journey to this scenic region will feature travel by river, road and rail.

There is a short coach ride from our pier to the Rivercat ferry for the cruise from Sydney Harbor along the river to Parramatta.  En route, you'll pass stately waterside homes and the Olympic 2000 site at Homebush Bay.

On arrival at Parramatta, you'll take a coach to the Koala Park for a firsthand acquaintance with some of Australia's indigenous animals and bird-life species.   Then, while enjoying traditional Billy Tea and Damper, you'll be joined by personable outback characters.

You'll then follow the trail of Australia's early explorers as you ascend the Blue Mountains to the township of Katoomba.  Marvel at the famous "Three Sisters" rock formation before savoring distant views of the magnificent Jamieson Valley, Mount Solitary, the ruined castle, Katoomba Falls and the Burragorang Valley from the lookouts.

A delightful lunch will then be served at the Lilianfels Resort, before your sightseeing continues with a ride on the world's steepest perpendicular railway, plunging 700 feet into the valley.

On returning to Katoomba, you'll board a comfortable inter-city train for a different perspective of the mountains during your descent to Sydney.  Enjoy superb views of natural bushland, wild flowers, country gardens and suburban homes before arriving at Central Railway Station.  From there, you'll return by coach to the ship.

Approximately 9 hours.
