Combine wine tasting at an award-winning Tasmanian vineyard with exploration of two famous historical buildings for an afternoon filled with interest.

Your coach will pass picturesque Hobart's many elegant homes and quaint cottages en route to the rural area of Berridale.  On arrival at Moorilla Estate, friendly hosts will provide an informative commentary as they accompany you through one of Tasmania's oldest established vineyards.

Later you'll visit two famous historical buildings.  First to be featured is Runnymede Estate, a gracious old home in charming grounds. It was built in 1840 for Robert Pitcairns, who was the first lawyer to qualify in Tasmania.  While wandering through its elegant rooms, you'll become acquainted with the fascinating history of this house and its many residents.

Before returning to the ship, you'll pause at the Penitentiary Chapel and Criminal Courts which were built in 1831 and feature a restored gallows.  As Tasmania was founded as a penal Colony, these buildings are of particular significance.  Return to the ship will be shortly before sailing.

Approximately 4 hours.
