Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I submit this form?
I review your message personally and respond within one business day to coordinate a brief, low-pressure discovery call (typically 20–30 minutes). There is no sales pitch—we will look directly at your current reporting bottlenecks, discuss what you want your data to accomplish, and determine if my engineering approach is the right fit.
Do we need an NDA before sharing our files or discussing our data?
Yes, absolutely. Client confidentiality and data integrity are paramount. Before you share any proprietary workbooks, database exports, or operational metrics, I am happy to execute a standard Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (yours or mine). You can also provide sanitized or anonymized sample files during our initial discovery.
Our spreadsheets are an absolute mess—is that a problem?
Not at all—that is precisely why clients bring me in. Most mission-critical workbooks evolve organically over years, becoming bloated with nested formulas, fragile lookups, and manual workarounds. You do not need to clean up, reorganize, or apologize for your files before our call. Seeing the raw, unedited friction helps me diagnose the root issues faster.
Why hire an Excel consultant when we already have access to AI assistants?
Think of AI as an assistant and an engineer as the architect. AI can help you write a formula, but it cannot design an end-to-end relational data model, resolve complex ETL transformation bottlenecks, or guarantee that your financial rollups are 100% mathematically sound across changing reporting cycles. When your leadership team is making strategic decisions based on a dashboard, “mostly accurate” isn’t good enough. I engineer deterministic systems where the data ingestion, logic, and integrity are rock-solid, fully documented, and built to run flawlessly without guessing.
Will I or my team need to install new software or pay monthly subscriptions?
No. Solutions are engineered natively within Microsoft Excel using built-in enterprise engines like Power Query and Power Pivot. Your team will not have to learn complex new platforms, configure third-party add-ins, or commit to recurring SaaS software subscriptions. If your organization runs standard modern Excel, the solutions will run seamlessly out of the box.
How are your consulting projects structured and priced?
Most engagements are delivered on a clear, fixed-fee project basis with a well-defined Statement of Work (SOW). You will know the exact scope, milestones, deliverables, and total cost before any work begins—no surprise hourly billing. For ongoing advisory, pipeline maintenance, or multi-phase rollouts, retainer arrangements are also available.
What types of data sources can you automate directly into Excel?
Virtually any structured source your business uses. Common integrations include direct connections to ERP systems, SQL databases, CRM platforms, accounting software extracts, cloud folders (SharePoint/OneDrive), and scheduled CSV or text exports. The goal is to eliminate manual data entry entirely.
Can my existing team maintain the workbook once the project is finished?
Yes. Every engagement includes clean architectural documentation and a dedicated walkthrough session. Power Query automation replaces fragile manual steps with documented, single-click update pipelines, meaning anyone on your team can refresh the numbers on demand without risking broken formulas or corrupted data models.
