Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
     Far East Cruise Port

Once known at the "Pearl of the Orient," Vietnam's capital sprawls along the Saigon river.  The privations of war are long past, and the Vietnamese welcome foreign visitors with courtesy and curiosity.  Wander spacious boulevards lined with French colonial buildings, the bustling streets of the Chinatown district, and the landmark Reunification Hall.

Shore Excursions

A visit to Ho Chi Minh City offers insight into Vietnam's eventful past and a glimpse into its hopeful future.  This is Vietnam's largest city, with a population of over five million.  Although commonly called Ho Chi Minh City, many of its citizens still refer to the downtown area as Saigon.

Two decades have passed since American forces left these shores and Ho Chi Minh City has now regained a prosperous air of thriving activity.  Rice boats float down the waterways, streets bustle with commerce, scooters speed by and a sense of history fills the air.  There are quiet temples to discover, French colonial public buildings to admire and street markets to stroll.

Visitors to Vietnam can be assured of a friendly and hospitable welcome.
