Whitsunday Island, Australia
Whitsunday is the largest of the rugged Cumberland Islands, which dot the Coral Sea
just off Australia. Its coast is an alternation of narrow inlets and broad
silica-sand beaches, including the gorgeous Whitehaven Beach, one of Australia's
best. The rugged interior, tufted with gum trees and eucalyptus, rises 1,500 feet to
the lofty Mt. Whitsunday.

Description
The 74 islands of the Whitsunday Passage rise gently from sapphire blue seas.
They are a compelling mixture of rain forest and reef, uninhabited isles and
resorts. Changes are relatively few since Captain Cook first sailed these waters
almost 220 years ago.
Crystal Symphony's sheltered anchorage between the deserted Whitsunday and Cid Islands
is the perfect base for a host of fascinating activities. The world's largest living
structure, the Great Barrier Reef lies tantalizingly close over the horizon. Closer
at hand, is a splendid adventure by sailboat to a remote seaside retreat.
